How to Install Super Mariomon: Patching Guide for GBA Emulators

The easiest way to jump into the adventure is to play Super Mariomon online directly on our site! No downloads or setup required.

However, if you prefer playing offline using your own GBA emulator, this guide will walk you through patching the Super Mariomon ROM. It's straightforward!

Step 1: Get the Required Files

You'll need three things to get started with the offline version of Super Mariomon:

1. Pokémon Emerald ROM

You need a clean, unmodified Pokémon Emerald (USA/EU) ROM file (often called "Trashman").

Note: We cannot provide this file. Please ensure you source it legally (e.g., dump it from your own cartridge).

The pre-patched GBA file available on our download page already includes this.

2. Super Mariomon Patch

Download the latest Super Mariomon .bps patch file (e.g., SuperMariomon_v1.3.bps).

Get this from our official download page if you haven't already.

3. Patching Tool

A tool to apply the .bps patch to the Emerald ROM:

Tip: The pre-patched GBA file on our download page skips Steps 1 & 2!

Step 2: Patch the Pokémon Emerald ROM

Now, let's apply the Super Mariomon patch to your clean Emerald ROM.

Using a Desktop Patcher (Flips/Lunar IPS):

  1. Download and open your chosen patching tool (e.g., Floating IPS).
  2. Click the "Apply Patch" or similar button.
  3. First, select the downloaded Super Mariomon .bps patch file.

  4. Next, select your clean Pokémon Emerald .gba ROM file.

  5. The tool will prompt you to save the new, patched file. Give it a distinct name, like SuperMariomon.gba.

  6. Done! You now have a playable Super Mariomon ROM.

Using UniPatcher (Android):

  1. Install and open UniPatcher from the Google Play Store.
  2. Tap "Patch file" and select the Super Mariomon .bps patch file.

  3. Tap "ROM file" and select your clean Pokémon Emerald .gba ROM file.

  4. Tap the "Save" (floppy disk) icon.
  5. Name your patched file (e.g., SuperMariomon.gba) and confirm.

  6. Success! Your Super Mariomon ROM is ready.

Step 3: Play Super Mariomon with an Emulator

You need a Game Boy Advance (GBA) emulator to play your patched SuperMariomon.gba file.

Recommended Emulator: mGBA

For the best compatibility and performance with Super Mariomon, we strongly recommend using mGBA.

Other Emulator Options

Other popular choices include:

  • PC/Mac/Linux: VBA-M

  • Android: My Boy!, John GBA Lite, Pizza Boy GBA

  • iOS: Delta, Provenance (may require sideloading)

Loading the Game

Simply open your chosen emulator, use its "Load ROM" or "Open Game" function, and select your patched SuperMariomon.gba file.

Enjoy your adventure in the world of Super Mariomon!
